A call for action to renew democracy for and with citizens
OGP CEO Sanjay Pradhan shares the most exciting open government innovations over OGP’s first decade that are renewing democracy, while addressing the confluence of other societal crises – pandemic, recession, inequality, climate.
A call for collective action to scale up transformative reforms and urge OGP partner countries to renew democracy for and with citizens.
The OGP Global Summit (15-17 December 2021) is the event which celebrates the progress and the results achieved in the first ten years of Open Government Partnership; it will mark the leadership handover of the OGP Steering Committee from the Government of Korea to the Government of Italy shared with Aidan Eyakuze, the representative of civil society.
The global Summit will be attended by national reformers from member countries who are taking significant and concrete actions, under over 100 new National Action Plans, aimed at sustaining citizens' trust in their governments in this particularly critical moment in time caused by the global pandemic.
Given the importance of the event, the planned preparatory meetings are underway which aim at refining the analysis through targeted discussions involving key stakeholders in various geographical areas of the partnership.
The transcription of Pradhan's speech is available in Italian or in English (original)
